How do I get to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida?

Travelling to Walt Disney World Resort in Florida is easy, whether you are coming by car, plane, train or public transport. The most convenient airports to fly into are:

Orlando International Airport (MCO):

The airport is within 15 miles of downtown Orlando.

Orlando Sanford International Airport (SFB):

This airport covers the Orlando resort areas.

Tampa International Airport (TPA):

Tampa International Airport is served by most major airlines and is located just five miles west of downtown. Tampa is approximately an hour's drive from Orlando.


You can also fly into Fort Lauderdale or Miami but your transfer time will be considerably longer.


Are transfers included in my package?

If you are flying into Orlando International Airport and staying at a Walt Disney World Resort hotel, you can take Disney's Magical Express to your hotel - this service is free of charge and included in your accommodation package.


What is Disney's Magical Express?

Disney's Magical Express is a free of charge service for guests staying at any of the Walt Disney World Resort's. This is a shuttle service providing transport to and from Orlando International airport. The service will also transport your luggage from the airport to your room as long as your luggage has been properly tagged. You must pre-register for this service, before arriving at Orlando International airport.


How do I book Disney's Magical Express?

Any guest who books a hotel package through MagicBreaks* are eligible for complimentary return airport transfers from Orlando International airport.


How does Disney's Magical Express work?

Upon arrival at Orlando International airport follow the U.S. Customs and Border process and claim your luggage. Once you have cleared customs you can return your labelled luggage to the airport officials for Walt Disney World resort to collect for you, or bring it with you if you prefer. If you are arriving after 10pm you will need to keep your luggage with you. You will then need to follow the signs for Ground Transportation, located on B side, level 1. Once you've arrived at Disney's Magical Express Welcome Centre you will be asked to confirm your return flight. You can then board your coach to your resort. The transfer time is approx 45 minutes, the coach may make up to three stops before arriving at your resort.

For your return journey you will be advised of your pick up time and location the day prior to check-out. Your collection time is scheduled for approx 4 hours prior to your flight departure.


How else can I get to Walt Disney World Resort from Orlando International Airport?

We can arrange a hire car or a private airport transfer to take you from the airport to your hotel or villa.


Can I hire a car in the United States?

The USA has an agreement with most countries which allows most driver's who hold a full national driving licence to drive in the US. Your driving licence can be used for a period of up to one year in the USA. (Provisional licences are not acceptable.)

Whatever your age, most companies ask that you have held a full licence for a minimum of one year. The minimum age for hiring a car is normally 21, although it can sometimes be as high as 25 with some suppliers. Additional charges may apply for drivers under 25 years of age. We can confirm this at the time of booking.


If I am flying into Tampa or any other airport in Florida and I don't want to hire a car how can I get to Walt Disney World Resort?

If you don't want to hire a car whilst abroad we can arrange an airport transfer from most airports in Florida to your hotel or villa.


Is there parking at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida and if so how much does it cost?

Parking is available at all of the 4 theme parks, prices depend on your vehicle type. If you want to travel between parks you will only pay the parking charge once in the same day. If you are a Guest staying at a Disney Resort hotel, you receive complimentary standard parking at Disney theme parks for the length of your Resort stay. You must present valid Disney Resort hotel identification to enter the parking lots. Complimentary standard theme park parking is also included with select annual passes.


How do I travel between the different theme parks?

You can travel between the theme parks by bus, boat or Monorail. Please note, there are 2 different monorail routes, please contact our team for more information.
